CAN Board

The Cully Association of Neighbors board is a friendly, fun bunch who enjoy working together to increase the livability of Cully. The board plans neighborhood gatherings and events, helps Cully residents connect with the city government, and takes official positions on neighborhood issues by sending letters and providing public testimony.

Who Can Join the Board?

All board members are volunteers elected by Cully residents during CAN neighborhood gatherings. Anyone who lives, works, holds a business license, or owns property in Cully can run for a board position. The board consists of four officers (chair, vice chair, secretary, and treasurer) and five at-large members. Officers serve 1-year terms, and at-large members serve 2-year terms. See the CAN Bylaws for more information on official board member duties.

What Do Board Members Do?

Board members may also serve on CAN committees, like the communication committee, the transportation and land use committee, or a temporary committee formed to organize a special event.

Board members vote to approve all official CAN actions, from sending a letter to a city bureau to approving the annual CAN budget. Most board votes take place during monthly board meetings, held on the fourth Thursday of each month. Board meetings are always public, and anyone can join to listen in or provide comments to the board.

To get in touch with the board, email us or join us at the next CAN Neighborhood Gathering or event.
