Public Comment Period

1. Vix Farnconis – Belmont Goats Manager:
Behind Jacajewa Park (owned by Steve Get – spelling?) – not sealed adequately unlikely to sell. Request: Introduction to Steve. Approach is get support of neighborhood association first. Owns over 78 acres. Ideally partial fencing is avail. Can provide own insurance. First round of approach is confusing (we don’t clear blackberries, we are a neighborhood attraction). Ask is not permanent. It’s a 2-3 year commitment. Can provide a use permit from city to alleviate concerns about lease/legalities. Looking in three places. If targeting spot for development, could help bring positive vibe to neighborhood. Could add fence line with details about properties. Other options – golf courses and port of Portland. Owners of the heard plus 8 volunteers help with chores and hosting open hours. No neighborhood responsibilities. Opportunity/ desire for neighborhood outreach to secure volunteers. Could be good for area hit by fire there. Group visits are by appt. Not interested in any place with existing use. Website: “Belmont goats”. Will be on Month to month from October and have transition locations without visitation.

Action: Rich and Denny can introduce to Vix to Steve once they get a brochure.

CAN Budget Review (Stephanie)
• Revenue: Cully Clean Up – Beaucratic delay in getting more than $6000
• Expenses: mini grants reduced, but still funds for general inquiries
• Stephanie: consolidate to misc budget line items (big enough and flexible enough) and bring back to board (broad titles with break outs for grants)
• Annette – request for more community resiliency
• Rich – maybe more actions on homelessnesses with CNN
• Josh – request approve budget is as and revisit after retreat

Community Support Requests:
1. Request from Verde for Sponsorship/Thomas Cully Park (Rich & Laura) to make it OUR park. $200 = name in newsletter, tent and social media. $500 = newletter, social media shout out, ind. tent, $1000 – name/logo in newsletter, feature, sponsorship slide show, paddle for 6 people, private tour for 15, etc…) – staff with Spanish speaking individual. Ask Courtney to volunteer. Mulu to volunteer for different languages. Approved $1000 sponsorship. Cully Park Opening June 30th. 11 am – 4 pm.
2. Letter of Support Review for Oak Lead Mobile Home Park – (Jake). Vote: Approved
3. Request for support of Mobile Home Housing Zoning Proposal – (Jake) – and send to BPS – discussed at general meeting. Were generally favorable at the meeting except Laura (protecting flexibility of her employers). This is upzoning, and allows purchase of density from neighbors. Keeps density of neighborhood (density transfer). Vote: Passed.
